My Prediction
Chelsea by 2Ladies and Gentlemen, strap in and buckle up because a spectacular matchup is right around the corner. The Blues from Chelsea are squaring off against Manchester United. Now, who doesn't love a good clash of the Titans?
Manchester United will have André Onana and Altay Bayındır guarding their net, who haven't been precisely wall-like this season with ratings of 6.30 and 6.20 respectively. On the brighter side, they have a fort of top players like Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo, and Alejandro Garnacho putting up the numbers. They've been responsible for Manchester United's glimmers of hope.
In the opposite corner, Chelsea, deploying Robert Sánchez between the sticks, have a more reliable option. Sánchez has been holding a fort with a rating of 6.88. Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernández, and Cole Palmer have been faring decently. Considering recent forms, Neto and Palmer are proving to be promising.
Then, of course, history. Didn't somebody famous say history teaches us everything? Looking back at the last four matchups between these two, Manchester United has emerged victorious twice, and one game ended as a draw, with only Chelsea getting a solitary success.
When we take last season's records into account, Chelsea looks stronger with a total of 18 wins compared to Manchester United's 10. This season isn't singing a different tune either. Manchester United is recently struggling to keep the ball out of their net i.e., they've let in more goals than a hen lays eggs. On the flip side, Chelsea's been doing quite alright, especially their recent triumph over Liverpool.
So in nutshell, while Manchester United had a decent track record in the past against Chelsea, recent performances suggest Chelsea has the upper hand going into this match. Honestly speaking, their boat seems considerably less leaky. Or maybe it's missing fewer holes. It's a matter of perspective.
