My Prediction
Fulham by 1Ah, grab a pint, folks - we're off to the English Premier League for a humdinger. Lining up in our sights are Fulham, glued to the grips of favoritism, and the determined daredevils from Everton.
Twirling the twine for Fulham we've got Bernd Leno in goal, a man who's proved dependable with 15 saves to his name. Ever alert between the sticks for Everton, Jordan Pickford's going strong with a 7.40 rating and 18 saves.
Shuffling on to the players, let's take a glance at Everton's James Tarkowski and James Garner. Tarkowski shines defensively with an impressive 79.2% accurate pass percentage, but wouldn't know where the net was if it hit him in the face. Garner, on the other hand, is a steady presence through the middle, despite also being part of the zero-goal club.
Fulham isn't without its royal flush. Take Alex Iwobi, whose nifty footwork has earned him 2 goals and six shots on goal this season. Then there's Ryan Sessegnon, another of Fulham's not-so-secret weapons, with 2 goals to his name. You’d think they were playing a different sport with that kind of scoring record.
Historically, these two teams appear to suffer from a terminal case of inability to outscore one another. It's draw city, with the odd Fulham victory thrown in for variety.
The regular season records add some flavor - Everton with an 8-15-12 record that screams "mediocrity!" Fulham fares slightly better with a more balanced 14-9-12. Based on recent performances, neither could hit water if they fell out of a boat. Everton, truly spectacular at not winning, racked up a series of draws and losses.
