My Prediction
USA by 12Well, pull up a chair and bring the popcorn, folks - it's time to talk basketball. We've got USA and France squaring up for the hoops equivalent of high noon: the Olympic Gold Medal Match.
USA's got an alley-oop arsenal featuring the likes of Stephen Curry, cooking up stupendous figures last playoffs with 21.5 points per game. Not just a scorer, he's pulling down 4.5 boards a game off the glass and chucking out dimes, averaging 1 assist. Then we've got LeBron James. Remember all those 14 points per game and 7 assists he was making last season? Yeah, he's still doing that.
Now, France on the other hand, despite being a slight underdog here, shouldn't be taken lightly. Cue the dramatic music for Guerschon Yabusele, showing the world he's a beast in the last playoffs with an impressive 19.5 points and 6 rebounds per game. Add Isaia Cordinier to the mix, he's rampaging with an 18 point per game average, and we've got ourselves an exciting Gold medal showdown.
Speaking of tournament records, the USA has been flawless; 3 wins, 0 losses. France? Just a slight stutter with a 2-1 record. Now, not to imply anything, but the numbers are speaking pretty loudly here.
It's been a rough road but the recent results show a resilient USA, seemingly bulletproof after locking horns with teams like Serbia and Brazil, always coming out on top. Meanwhile, France had a tad hiccup against Germany recently, although managing to get back on track with back-to-back victories over Canada and Germany, exactly the sort of moxie you need for a gold medal game.
So, given that US-A leads Group C, and France trails at #2 in Group B, if you pin me down for a prediction? With this lineup of laser-focused leapers and watchers-worth wonders?
