I have been told, dear listeners, that brevity is the soul of wit. So, without further ado, let's talk shop.
Serbia is bringing the heat with Nikola Jokic who's proving every bit as instrumental in the playoffs with his impressive 19 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists per game. Then there's Bogdan Bogdanovic, stepping up his game during the playoffs with an impressive 18.5 point per game average. Aleksa Avramović, a man usually in the shadows, stepped up his act in the playoffs with 12.5 points per game.
Switching gears to Germany, we cannot ignore Dennis Schröder. Even though he didn't manage to replicate his regular season stats in the playoffs, with 15.5 points per game, he remains a key player for the Germans. Meanwhile, Franz Wagner, who should be given the moniker "Mr. Consistent", delivered solid performances with 14 points and 6 rebounds a game.
Let's not forget how the last encounter between these two ended: a tight game, with Germany sneaking past Serbia 83-77. But mind you, recent form seems to tip the scales towards Germany, who has been unbeaten in the tournament whereas Serbia has tripped once.
Here's an interesting piece of trivia: Germany leads Group B, whereas Serbia is the runner-up in Group C. Now, rankings can be deceiving, but this is something to chew on as we make our predictions.
In the end, my gut says that the Serbians, with their star-studded squad, might just edge past the Germans but, given the fierce competition, it's going to be tight. So, after weighing all the stats and past performances, here it is:
