Oh, this should be as entertaining as watching paint dry. We have the Sydney Roosters squaring off against the North Queensland Cowboys. It's round 16, time for both teams to shape up or brace for a decent off-season holiday.
Looking at their previous skirmishes, it appears they've been playing a game of hot potato with wins. However, the Roosters came out soaring in their last face-off, pecking the Cowboys into submission.
Now, humor me here for a second. If you've been following the Cowboys season, you'd probably think they've been mistaking rugby for a siesta. With a 5-7-1 record, it's a wonder they can even saddle up for the games. Recent performances have also been slightly less impressive than a wet firework display.
Don't go crowing victory for the Roosters yet though. They're barely keeping above .500 with a 6-7 record themselves. Still, they've been ruffling some feathers lately with more wins under their belt.
But when you look at the league pecking order, you see a glimmer of hope for our feathery friends. They're perched at #8 while the Cowboys remain stuck at a dismal #10.
With that in mind, whip out the party hats because I'm calling it. If the Roosters manage not to trip over their own spurs, they should have this one in the bag. And not just because of their in-form plumage, but also considering the fact that the bookies seem to be leaning their way.
So here you have it, sports fans. Let's put our money where the rooster crows.
