If you ask me, we've got one intriguing game on our hands tonight with the South Sydney Rabbitohs squaring off against the Melbourne Storm. The big bad Storm are swooping in as the clear favorites, but hold onto your hats folks, things might not be as black and white as they seem.
Yes, we're in round 16, with the Storm squatted pretty comfortably in the 4th spot, about as safe as a koala in a eucalyptus tree. Meanwhile the Rabbitohs are lagging behind in spot 14 like a turtle who missed the bus.
But don't let that put you to sleep like a hypnotised cockatoo just yet, because the recent records are nothing to sneeze at. The Storm has been producing a respectable performance, going 8-4 while the Rabbitohs...well, let's just say they've still got 6 wins to their name with 8 losses. NRL’s unforgiving, that's for sure.
Let’s also bring up the past bouts between these two. It's basically been the Melbourne Storm hosting a party and the Rabbitohs just weren't invited, judging by the Storm’s impressive victories recently. Melbourne is on a streak faster than a jumpy kangaroo on a trampoline.
The Storm's recent results have been rather stormy—beating the Cowboys, the Titans and they blanked the Tigers (poor fellas, didn't see that coming!). But the Rabbitohs...oy, their latest games look like they've been hopping around aimlessly in the outback.
Now, I don't mean to rain on the Bunny parade, but based on enticing numbers, past matchups, and current standings, I'm putting my money (not that I'm allowed to bet, of course) on the Melbourne Storm to take this one. But this is NRL: it's wild, unpredictable and that's why we love it.
