Ah, the visual feast that is Rugby! Tonight we have a clash of titans. The Cronulla Sharks in their blue, black and white outfits lock horns with the Parramatta Eels adorning their gold and blue. This is clash is no tea party, and it's not for the light-hearted either.
The Eels are having a bit of a blue season, finding themselves at the bottom of the barrel, pinching the 16th place. Their record of 2-5 is looking more like a high score in a game of golf you wouldn't want to brag about. The Sharks on the other hand, have been darting in and out this season, with a lukewarm record of 4-4. Not exactly setting the world on fire, but they're sitting sort-of-pretty at position 7.
This is round 9 and there are a lot of faceoffs to go before the champions are crowned. But history has shown us a thing or two. Interestingly, in the past three encounters the Sharks have managed two wins against the Eels. Remember when they barely slid past the eels with a score of 18-16 back in 2022?
Let's look at the recent reports, shall we? The Eels had a monologue with the West Tigers resulting in their second win this season. If they got a nickel every time they won, they'd have, um, a dime. The Sharks, on the other hand, had a close shave with their recent loss against the West Tigers. Their win against the Newcastle Knights was remarkable though, they really had a bite that day!
This is no fortune cookie prediction, but given the data, the Sharks stand erect with a fair chance under the spotlight. I think Albert hits a home run on this one. If the Sharks manage to stay dry tonight, I predict a victorious swim for them with a climb in the standings.
