Ladies and gentlemen, let the number crunching begin! It's the Orix Buffaloes who are galloping over to face the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, and if you ask me, it's looking a bit like a Hindi Bollywood dance - one step forward, two steps back for both the teams really.
The Buffaloes, bless their bovine hearts, have been pretty stronger this season with a record of 35-28. They're in a rhythm, practically humming along to their own tune. Then again, the Swallows, regardless of roosting on a less-than-impressive 19-42 record, haven't been afraid to peck at the Buffaloes in the past; I mean, look at the scrappy win they nabbed just a few days ago.
The Buffaloes, though - they've been toughening up against dragons, if you can believe that! They've taken them on a couple of times recently and more often than not, came out on top. The Swallows however seem to have hit a snag against the Golden Eagles, and let's just say that's not promising.
But then again, I truly live for surprises and upsets in sports, as it adds that extra flavor to my popcorn. But for today’s bout, unless the Swallows suddenly mutate into phoenixes, I’m handing this one to the Buffaloes. In the immortal words of the great George Orwell, “Four legs good, two legs bad.”
