In the face of the goalie matchup, we have Sergei Bobrovsky with 100 saves under his belt for Florida Panthers in the playoffs, flaunting a save percentage of 90.1. Contrastingly, Toronto's goalkeeper, Anthony Stolarz, has put up quite the fight in these playoffs, blocking 128 shots with a 90.1 save percentage. Stolarz seems to have carried over his phenomenal performance from the season with a whopping 94.9 save percentage.
Heading into the battle, Panthers have stars like Sam Reinhart, Matthew Tkachuk, and Sam Bennett dusting off their skates. Reinhart's performance in the playoffs seems to mirror his form from the last season where he struck 40 goals and 41 assists. Tkachuk, however, seems to be struggling a little in the playoffs compared to his last season run.
Now, talking about the Leafs, they're not left out in the cold with the likes of William Nylander, Mitch Marner, and Auston Matthews wearing their colors. Nylander with his 3 playoff goals and 6 assists is living up to his regular season feats of 45 goals and 39 assists. Matthews and Marner on the other hand aren't far behind.
Looking at the history between these two teams, they seem to be in a cat and mouse chase with back and forth wins. Their last encounter saw the Panthers taking the cake, however. When it comes to their previous playoff series, Florida cruised past Tampa Bay Lightning with a 4-1 victory, while Toronto managed to nose ahead of Ottawa Senators with a 4-2 win.
Florida's recent run has been quite a rollercoaster with three wins in their last five games. Toronto, on the other hand, has seen mixed results with three victories in their last five outings.
