Alright, we're looking at round two, game two of the Stars-Jets playoff series. Now just a quick glance at the numbers would tip favor towards the Winnipeg Jets, but as the great Billie Jean King once said, "Champions keep playing until they get it right."
And the Dallas Stars goalies, they're playing alright! Jake Oettinger came off a decent season, but he’s a wall of resilience in the playoffs, chalking up a 91.3% save rate. The second in command, Casey DeSmith isn't bad either with a remarkable 92.9% playoff save rate. The Jets keepers, Connor Hellebuyck and Eric Comrie, while great this season, are keeping a tad bit shaky in the playoffs.
Let's talk about the guys upfront who score some goals. For Dallas, I'd watch out for Mikko Rantanen, who's picked up where he left off this season scoring 8 goals in the playoffs. Roope Hintz's performance has also been commendable with 4 goals. Over at Jets camp, Kyle Connor is making some buzz in playoffs just as he did in the regular season.
But, I see you asking, what about the past? Well, let's just say the Jets seem to have a home advantage. In the last five matchups at Jets' home ground; it's tied 2:2 with one game ending in Jets' clean sheet. But then again, the Stars are leading this series 1-0 and just won on the Jets' turf.
Jets might’ve won more games during the regular season. However, Stars have shown resilience by winning game one of this series and beating Colorado Avalanche in a closely fought previous series.
All in all, I'd say this faceoff is as unpredictable as my ex's mood. But based on recent and past performances, I'm inclined slightly towards Dallas. Buckle up, folks, because we're in for a one-goal nail-biter.
