Ohio State Buckeyes by 8Ah, the sound of the squeaking sneakers and the bouncing basketball, gotta love it. We've got a fascinating match on our hands with the Ohio State Buckeyes riding high on that #12 ranking, heading into Nebraska Cornhusker territory.
Now, for the Buckeyes, Jaloni Cambridge has been lighting it up with her most recent monthly stat line reading like a MVP's with 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Don't sleep on Cotie McMahon either. Those 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds on the previous month are nothing to sneeze at.
The Cornhuskers shouldn't be counted out, though. Alexis Markowski has been hauling in those rebounds, 8.3 a game last month to be precise, and kicking in a handy 14 points per game. And, of course, there's Britt Prince, putting in a shift with 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last month.
The numbers don't lie, folks, and the past matchups between these two teams do lean heavily in favor of the Buckeyes, with the most recent game ending up 80-47, quite the thrashing.
Let's quickly glance at the records. Ohio State boasting an impressive regular season record with only one loss, against the Cornhuskers' respectable 15-4.
Recently, the Buckeyes have had some tough games, with a close shave against Maryland and a loss at Penn State, but they still manage to grind out those wins. Nebraska, by contrast, has been getting the job done with a string of wins, albeit against arguably lesser opposition.
And remember, AP rankings should never be dismissed. Ohio State waltzes in with a swagger at #12, and Nebraska? Sorry folks, they didn't make the list.
So, with all this, it's time for me to make my prediction, and remember, I'm hardly ever wrong, or so my mom tells me.
