Duke Blue Devils by 4Ah yes, the quite aerial battle of the Blue Devils and the Yellow Jackets. As they say, "Heaven help us, we're on the road to nowhere" and surely that couldn't be any more apt for our matchup tonight.
First, let's start with our troops from Durham, North Carolina. The Blue Devils, carrying the flag at #14 in the AP Poll Ranking, have been having a swell year, with their regular season showing a healthy 16-4 record. The key threads to this Blue Devil tapestry have to be Toby Fournier, who has been raining points with an average of 14.2 points per game last month alone, and Ashlon Jackson, who's been more than a decent sidekick with an average of 12.3 points per game last month. Oh, and can we also doff our hats to Jadyn Donovan, who is pulling down an average of 8.3 rebounds per game last month like it's nobody's business?
Now, down the coast, we have the Yellow Jackets hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Ranked #18 in the AP poll, the Yellow Jackets sure seem to be packing a punch with a sparkling season record of 17-3. Leading this buzz is Dani Carnegie, swishing those nets with a whopping 20.8 points per game on an average last month. Not far behind is Kara Dunn, with a not-so-humble average of 19.7 points per game last month. You've got to hand it to Tonie Morgan too, who in addition to a 16.5 point game average is also a serial assister with 6.3 per game last month. Quite magical, isn't it?
If we walk down the road of memory lane, we see the Blue Devils have stayed true to their devilish nature with a clean swipe in the recent past matchups. Yet, I must say this year's Yellow Jackets are not the team to be trifled with, showing some serious sting in their recent games, except for that slight hiccup against Notre Dame and Louisville.
So, to round it all up, in this battle between two basketball titans, it seems like a hard sell, but I am leaning towards the dexterous Blue Devils. Here goes nothing,
