Alright, alright, alright folks, let's talk some round ball. The Connecticut Huskies, sitting pretty at number 11 in the AP rankings, travel to take on the Butler Bulldogs in their own doghouse.
Glaring at stats, Huskies roll in strong with Alex Karaban and Liam McNeeley at the helm. Karaban's numbers have been impressive with 15.1 points and 5.1 rebounds a game over the past month, and McNeeley's worldwide assists are worth keeping an eye on. Tarris Reed chipping in almost 12 points per game, helps reduce the burden.
Comparatively, Bulldogs don't lag behind, featuring key players like the Mighty Jahmyl Telfort, dropping a clean 16.1 points per game in recent weeks, and Pierre Brooks, adding a solid 15.3 points per game to the point pool. But, the Huskies lads seem to have just that extra pinch of zing in their passes.
Past records and recent results are definitely not bedtime stories formed between these teams. Morpheus clearly didn't bother reading to Bulldogs when they last met Huskies - a painful memory of defeat. Further still, Huskies have been dominating the recent games with some strong wins, unlike Bulldogs who've had a rather rough patch recently.
From how I see it, Huskies, coming off a strong 9-3 record in the season compared to Bulldogs 7-5, have a bit more pep in their steps. Butler can sneak a surprise or two under the basket, but ultimately, it's the Huskies' game to lose.
