Things are getting heated in the Big Ten! We're looking at a final showdown between the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan Wolverines. The game is slated at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, reminisce of their past confrontations.
Staring at the past matchup history, the Wolverines have been in the driving seat three out of the four recent meetups, however, their AP ranking yet hangs lower than the Badgers. Crunching the numbers of the regular season, the Badgers are ahead with 26 wins over the Wolverines' 23.
In the Badgers' corner, you've got John Tonje and John Blackwell, two mighty Johns leading the offensive charge. Tonje has been lighting it up with an average 21.6 points per game in the last month. Blackwell isn't far behind with a 16-point average. Then you've got Steven Crowl feeding the ball around with a 2.8 assist average. Quite the players if I do say so.
The Wolverines aren't without their standout performers either. Vladislav Goldin is a big name with a bigger game, averaging 20.2 points in the last month. Daniel Wolf isn't just howling at the moon either. He's grabbing, on an average, nearly 10 rebounds per game.
When we glance at recent results, the Badgers have a bit more to chew on than the Wolverines. Badgers bested the Bruins, while the Wolverines were gnashed by the Spartans and the Fighting Illini.
At the end of the day, or should I say game, it's a close call. The Badgers are certainly showing a lot of teeth in their game, but Wolverines aren't exactly known for backing down from a challenge, are they? However, here in the land of sports predictions, we like to back our talk with results.
