Connecticut Huskies by 7Well, aren't we in for a treat as the Purdue Boilermakers take a stroll on the court with the Connecticut Huskies for the National Championship. Remember, this isn't a walk in the park, but a fierce face-off at State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ.
Let's talk a tickabout Purdue here. With an impressive 29-4 record in the regular season, they've shown themselves to be quite the force majeure during this tournament, stamping the court with vigor. Standing large and quite literally in charge is big man Zach Edey, who's been slamming in 27.8 points per game and scooping up 14.3 rebounds in the last month. Not to be overlooked are Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer who've shown their worth on the court with commendable stats in the recent matches.
On the other side, we have the Connecticut Huskies, and boy, aren't they just having a howl of a time with a 31-3 record this season. The dynamic duo of Tristen Newton and Donovan Clingan have been firing on all cylinders. Newton and Clingan have been a regular showcase, dropping 14.4 and 14.8 points per game respectively, over the past month.
Looking at recent performances, Purdue's had a run-in with stout opponents, but the same cannot be said for the Huskies who've blown their oppositions out of water with significant margins of victory.
Loads can happen under the spotlight, but given the Huskies standout performance and their better record over Boilermakers, I'm making my judgement here.
