Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders by 10
Okay, let's switch gears from basketball to the gridiron and talk about the looming NCAA matchup between the Kennesaw State Owls and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Now don't get me started on their seasons so far. They make sad trombones sound joyful.
First up, the Kennesaw State Owls, a name that sounds like something out of a Harry Potter trivia night, are winless so far this season. The last game they played was less a game, more a training session for Jacksonville State. Their quarterback Davis Bryson's throwing game last month? Let's just say it's been more interceptions than touchdowns. His passing efficiency reads like a really bad golf score, and we all know how golf works, don't we?
If we take a look at their offensive lineup, you might just think the copy went missing. But no, folks, Qua Ashley, Michael Benefield, Blake Bohannon, Tykeem Wallace and Navelle Dean, while having pretty decent names, have been relatively quiet with very few TDs between them.
And what about their best defensive lads, Milon Jones, Isaac Paul and JeRico Washington? Tackling a lot, but they seem to have mislaid their sack and forced fumble stats somewhere.
Now on the other side of the field, we have Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, with one lonely star in their win column. But at least they have something. The only highlight though, is their QB, Nicholas Vattiato. I tell you, this kid is the dictionary definition of "Not-So-Bad-After-All", sinking 5 TDs last month with just 2 interceptions.
On offense, Omari Kelly has been doing all the heavy lifting, raking in 516 total yards with 3 total TDs. A bit of a one-man-show situation, if you ask me, as Holden Willis and Jaiden Credle are the only other players showing a bit of a spark.
As for defensive stalwarts, Brandon Buckner, Marvae Myers-Glover, Jalen Davis, and the gang have been solid, if not the flashiest.
Now, to the crux of the matter: The Prediction. Taking into account their recent performances and players' stats from the last month, unless the Owls bring their A-game coupled with a whole lot of luck, it looks like the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders ought to have the upper hand.
