Los Angeles Clippers by 2
Look out, folks! We've got a real slugfest on our hands as we're headed into game 5 of the first round playoffs between the LA Clippers and the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets, inspired by their triple-double machine Nikola Jokić, and Jamal Murray, who is also putting up commendable stats, have been showing up on the court, with Jokić outnumbering every Clipper in points, rebounds, and assists.
Aced up their sleeves, though, the Clippers have Kawhi Leonard, who's prowling on the court with 26.5 points per game during this playoff run, and he's not the only threat. James Harden and Ivica Zubac, with their respective solid points tally, are playing quite the supporting act for Leonard.
Looking at this season, it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges with these two teams, both ending the season with a healthy 50-32 win-loss record. Playoff-wise, they are neck-and-neck, with the series tied at 2-2.
The history between these teams is a tad in favor of the Nuggets with a recent 101-99 win, albeit them losing to the Clippers in a previous embarrassing 117-83 loss. But remember folks, the past doesn't always predict the future.
The recent results have had this commentator on the edge of his seat. The Clippers and Nuggets have been playing leapfrog in this playoff series, trading victories back and forth.
Now, we're looking at the team positions in the Western Conference. Denver headed into this series in the 4th position, with the Clippers just breathing down their necks in the 5th.
Here's where it gets tricky. The Los Angeles Clippers are expected to perform well, considering their higher existence on the payout part of our data. A safer bet, so to speak. But, let it be known, sports aren't predictable, and one spectacular performance can become a game changer.
After mulling over, and quite frankly making my head spin, I am forced to choose!
