Looking at this matchup, the New York Knicks have definitely had an upper hand this season. With the lead in the first round playoff series at 3-1 and a higher position in standings (#3 in Eastern Conference), they've painted a pretty picture. Not to mention Jalen Brunson's scorching playoff performance with an average of 33.3 points per game. Aided by Karl-Anthony Towns who's been a key player with playoff stats of 22.8 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game, they've been quite the formidable duo.
That being said, not all hope is lost for Detroit Pistons who are leaning on the performance of Cade Cunningham. With him averaging 25.8 points per game, 8.8 rebounds per game, and 9.0 assists per game in the playoffs, he's been a shining light in what's been a tough series. Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway Jr. have also chipped in with bread and butter performances.
In their recent games, it's been a game of margins with the Knicks stealing a victory at Detroit by a point and the Pistons pulling one back at New York by six points. However, the Knicks came out on top at two other instances during these playoffs. And even though the Pistons had a higher number of recent wins, the Knicks are swimming ahead in the series.
Multiple factors considered, this is looking like it'll be a day for the New Yorkers as they're performing on all cylinders. So, hold on to your hats and strap on for what promises to be a rollercoaster of a game!
