My Prediction
Chicago Fire by 1Ah, don’t you just love the smell of fresh sod and the sight of perfectly shaped white lines on the field? Today, we've got quite the matchup in Major League Soccer, folks! It's the Chicago Fire trading passes against Charlotte FC.
Staring between the sticks for Charlotte, we've got the nimble-fingered David Bingham and Kristijan Kahlina. Over on the other side, Chris Brady and Jeffrey Gal are standing tall for Chicago.
The boys of Charlotte FC aren't short of talent with the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Ashley Westwood bossing the midfield with their accurate passing. Not to mention Patrick Agyemang bringing a certain flair to the game. If you're a betting man, you should keep an eye on 'em.
However, you'd be a fool to ignore Chicago’s firepower. Philip Zinckernagel has been finding the net like a dowser locating water in a desert with 3 goals off just as many shots, while Tom Barlow has displayed an equal threat up front. Then there's Hugo Cuypers, who's been no slouch either, putting away a couple of goals.
Now, despite the last meeting between these two titans falling in favor of Chicago with a decisive 4-1 victory, the series has been fairly even. In the five previous encounters, Charlotte FC has managed to wrangle two wins out of the Fire's grasps.
For the season totals, Charlotte FC and Chicago Fire have displayed some hard to ignore inconsistencies, holding records of 8-1-9 and 7-4-6 respectively.
The recent form of both squads tells a similar story. Charlotte FC, after a bitter 1-2 defeat against Philadelphia Union, are struggling a bit, while Chicago Fire, despite a hurtful loss to Nashville SC, has been blistering, as shown by a 7-1 demolition of DC United.
That being said, it's time to put my reputation on the line and call this one. Using my crystal ball and going by all this robust data, which assuredly never lies (wink wink), the signs are pointing me to one direction.
