New York Red Bulls by 1Alright, alright, let's talk turkey about this Major League Soccer showdown we have coming up between the New York Red Bulls and DC United.
Starting in net for the teams, DC United have Luis Barraza and Jun-hong Kim. Meanwhile, New York Red Bulls are relying on Carlos Coronel and AJ Marcucci to keep that inflated pigskin out of their turf nest.
Now, if we're talking about their top players, and why wouldn't we, for DC United we have Christian Benteke with an impressive 52.8% accurate pass percentage. Not to be outdone, Lukas MacNaughton and Brandon Servania are also performing admirably with great pass accuracy. Things look little less rosy on the injury front, DC United are a bit banged up, notably missing Gavin Turner and Jackson Hopkins.
Over in the Red Bulls corner, Emil Forsberg has been standing out recently, quickest to the punch with 2 goals to his name already. Omar Valencia and Dylan Nealis might not be shooting much, but their pass percentages are not to be scoffed at. In the ER though, we have Raheem Edwards, Marcelo Morales, Lewis Morgan, and Daniel Edelman all strapped up, nursing their woes, casting a definite shade on their game.
Looking at the history between these two, the Red Bulls seems to like charging at DC, having come out on top more often in their past matchups, including a good bashing back in 2024. Regular season performances so far also tilt the scale towards the New York Red Bulls, with a winning record compared to DC's losing streak.
Getting a bit closer under the microscope, DC United's been having a rougher run than a hedgehog at a balloon factory recently, with their latest results showing a string of losses. However, the Red Bulls showed they still have some snort left with a more bullish performance in their recent games, including several wins.
All things considered, I'll wager my Aunt Betsy's hot pot recipe on the New York Red Bulls. However, DC's peculiarity for draws cannot be dismissed casually.
