New England Revolution by 1
Discussing this match feels like debating with my cat about who makes the best catnip. The New England Revolution and New York City FC are both solid teams, but they're a bit removed from their prime.
Let's start with the gatekeepers, the goalkeepers. New York City FC's Matthew Freese has been a solid force with a 7.43 rating and 19 saves. Decent, not spectacular. New England Revolution displays Aljaž Ivačič, with a 7.33 rating and just 12 saves under his notch. Fewer kittens caught than my feline friend, Whiskers.
New York City FC has some stand-out players - Alonso Martínez shines with his 7.47 rating and his two goals are certainly worth mentioning. The formidable Hannes Wolf, with a 7.20 rating, has also bagged a couple of goals. However, the injured soldier list for today's match includes Jacob Arroyave and Malachi Jones from New York City FC; they might as well be home knitting some scarves.
The New England Revolution top players include Carles Gil with an impressive 8.40 rating and three goals that have tickled the net. But we should also mention some missing ninjas - Andrew Farrell, Malcolm Fry, and Wyatt Omsberg are bruised and out for this match.
Past meet-ups have leaned in favor of New York City FC but past glory is as relevant here as my middle school dodgeball championship. As for the regular season records, New York City FC stands at 3-2-3, and the New England Revolution lags slightly at 2-1-4. Recent results on both sides were as shocking as my last electricity bill.
Having considered all of this, as well as the not-to-be-mentioned factors that guide my hand, here's my Ironclad, never-to-be-questioned prediction:
