Alrighty, without further ado, let's dive in. Olympique Lyonnais are the favored team here. I believe they sense blood in the water, oh boy. In the net, they're lining up the man, the myth, Lucas Perri with a solid rating of 7.28 and an impressive 17 appetizing saves that would make any pastry chef proud.
For Stade Brestois, they've got Marco Bizot as the last line of defense. The poor lad's only made 10 saves, but he has a decent 7.02 rating, which at least keeps him in the room.
As we look downfield, Olympique Lyonnais' Corentin Tolisso has an appeal akin to an apple pie out of the oven. With 4 goals and 6 shots on goal, he's more dangerous than a bear without his hibernation nap. But we can't overlook Rayan Cherki who would tickle the opposition with his 2 rainy goals and 2 shots on goal.
Over in Brestois country, Ludovic Ajorque is their man of the moment, but seems as unpredictable as a cat in a fish market with his 3 goals. Massadio Haïdara and Pierre Lees Melou also exist. Not much to say about them, they’re more middle of the road, won't fill up your bingo card but you won't weep if they showed up at your party.
Looking at the history books, it’s as tight as a snare drum with Brestois and Lyonnais trading victories and a couple of draws sprinkled in for taste. This season, both teams are strutting around like two peacocks with similar records. Lyonnais managed to pull a few more ties out of their party hats though.
Bouncing over to the recent results, Olympique Lyonnais has been hotter than jalapeno-flavoured gum with wins against Montpellier and Stade de Reims while Brestois has been as consistent as a broken metronome, scoring a few goals here and there, but nothing to write home about.
With all the data laid out, I'd say it's time to make a prediction that is as reliable as my old, beat-up Ford Pinto.
