My Prediction
Boavista by 1Oh dear, here we have two teams languishing near the bottom of the league. It's like watching two three-legged dogs in a race. AVS - Futebol SAD, has two goalkeepers to confide in; Guillermo Ochoa with a rating of 6.87 and Simão at 6.70, but neither has made a spectacular impact in the net this season. On the other side, we have Tomáš Vaclík, lone sentinel for Boavista who has been kept busier with 23 saves and a rating of 7.38.
Looking at the key players, Rodrigo Abascal, Vitaliy Lystsov, and Ilija Vukotić seem to bring a little sparkle to otherwise lackluster Boavista. But what is defense without attack? AVS - Futebol SAD finds a bit of fighting spirit in Rafael Rodrigues and Babatunde Akinsola. They at least managed to rustle the net once, even if their pass percentage is as erratic as their team's position in the league.
The previous matchup between these two was a scoreless snore-fest. However, given that Boavista narrowly edged out AVS - Futebol SAD in terms of regular season records, it's worth considering.
Mulling over their recent form, we see both teams suffering their fair share of thrashings. Boavista got trounced 0-5 by Sporting recently, but managed two away wins. AVS - Futebol SAD, on the other side, seems to be perfecting the art of losing, culminating with a 0-6 defeat to Benfica.
Taking all of this into account, and considering that I am slightly more reliable than a flipped coin, let's call it. A clash that is more an exercise in despair management than football, both teams have as much bite as a toothless terrier, but I guess something's gotta give.
