My oh my, this Liga MX Apertura matchup has got some thrill to the chill. We're talking Puebla vs Atlas here.
Now, when it comes to keepers, Jesus Rodriguez has been standing strong for Puebla. The man's saved more shots than I've saved bad jokes. That's an impressive 7.30 rating and 2 saves, folks. On the other hand, Atlas... their goalie, José Hernández is sitting on a 6.20 rating with zilch saves. I’ve seen better performances from my grandmother and she's not exactly Liga material, if you catch my drift.
Moving on to player power, Atlas pulls in the likes of Luis Reyes and Eduardo Aguirre both holding good ratings and 1 goal apiece. Nice figures there. Puebla ain't far behind though, boasting powerhouses like Lucas Cavallini with 1 goal of his own, and Brayan Angulo being a passing genius.
Looking at the ol’ history book, it seems our past matchups have been a bit of a seesaw, both Atlas and Puebla taking turns outscoring each other. There has been a draw in recent memory, so don’t go throwing that out the window, folks.
Fast forward to recent form, Puebla's shown a bit more stumbling than Atlas, especially that 4-1 bludgeoning from Club Necaxa which makes me feel more nervous than a cat at a dog show. Meanwhile, Atlas has been drawing games like a toddler with a new crayon set.
Put it all together and it seems like we're in for an exciting game. I reckon despite their strong keeper and powerful players, Puebla might find themselves outsmarted by a hungry Atlas team.
Albert’s Prediction: Atlas by 1
