Now look at this, folks, we're buckling up for a thrilling LaLiga clash between Real Valladolid and Las Palmas. Couldn’t be more exciting if I tried.
Between the goal posts, Las Palmas will be relying heavily on Jasper Cillessen, whose 10 saves this season have been relatively impactful. On the other end, however, Karl Hein of Real Valladolid packs a punch, with a consistent performance resulting in 19 saves this season. The guy should be nicknamed wall!
On the field, Las Palmas seems to have a commendable lead in player performance. Fábio Silva and Manuel Fuster are both coming forth with a good scoring record, each having a goal in their last month. But let's not forget the Real Valladolid powerhouse, Selim Amallah, that guy packs heat with a 6.93 rating and a goal to his credit.
Historically, Las Palmas has a bit of an upper hand with a previous win 2-1 against Real Valladolid on December 7, 2024.
Putting both regular seasons on the scales, we get Las Palmas with a 6-5-14 record against Real Valladolid’s 4-3-18 record. Not too shabby for Las Palmas, however, both teams have been showing some troubling performances recently. Real Valladolid clearly needs to shake off some rust, especially after that big loss against Sevilla and the flattening by Athletic Club. Las Palmas also suffered a string of losses, with their only draw against Osasuna.
But be that as it may, after considering all these elements, my prediction would be based on a gut feeling, crunching numbers and a lil bit of whimsy. Brace yourselves:
