Lucknow Super Giants to winGearing up for a thriller here, with Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings thumping their way onto the Indian Premier League cricket pitch.
If history has taught us anything, it's that mental arithmetic isn't the commentator's strong suit. But a glance at the past matchups between these teams shows they've been trading victories like toddlers trading lunchbox goodies. Lucknow certainly holds a more imposing track record, so the cricket-balls are on their side of the court, and we all know that's of utmost importance.
This season, the record books are still spit-shine new, with Punjab yet to etch in a W or L in their column. On the other side, Lucknow's campaign has begun on what you might call a less than auspicious note with a losing start. Yet, life sometimes is less about how you start and more about how you annoy the sports commentator.
Now let’s talk on current form. Like a teen on a rollercoaster, Punjab’s been up and down recently. They've had some impressive high-scoring matches but their inconsistency is amateur hour stuff, folks. Super Giants, on the other hand, have recently rediscovered their drum beat but they too need to tighten up their loose ends. They keep losing by hair-thin margins — very annoying, almost as annoying as the commentator talking about it.
In "Where's Waldo?" edition of the IPL standings, Punjab Kings are playing a remarkable hide and seek game, snugly nestled at the #10 spot. Lucknow Super Giants seem to be flexing their muscles at a comfortable #5 position.
Remember folks, with my predictive powers rivaled only by your local weatherman, one thing is for certain — cricket will be played, and one team will win, unless of course it rains and we all have to endure the never-ending rain rules discussion.
