Chennai Super Kings to win
Ah, cricket, the gentleman's game. Except in the Indian Premier League. Here, it's a cutthroat, full-throttle chase for that glorious trophy involving Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, two teams that ought to serve up a gobsmacking spectacle quite sure of it!
Delhi Capitals has been romping through their oppositions, notably racking up an undefeated 2-game streak this season while the Chennai Super Kings, well, let's diplomatically say they've had a "mixed" start, with a solitary victory marred by two defeats. A gleam in the standings, Capitals are sitting pretty at #2, while the Super Kings are languishing, so far, down at #7. But hey, sports is nothing if not wildly unpredictable, right?
Turning back the hands of the IPL-analog clock, it seems as if Super Kings had the Capitals' number in yesteryears with three out of the four previous encounters tilting in favor of the Chennai's royal cadre. Maybe, just maybe, they can rekindle some of that magic.
Assessing the recent form of both sides, Capitals have been smashing sixes like there's no tomorrow while Super Kings probably wish there were no tomorrows. The Super Kings’ run rate's been about as inspiring as lukewarm tea, and they'll need to significantly up their game to outdo a high-flying Capitals side. Delhi's strategy of bludgeoning their opponents into submission by piling on mammoth scores looks like a winning formula so far.
But, as they say, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Or in this case, it's called 'upset', dear friends. All jests aside though, in sports, there's no such thing as a sure bet, and some would tell you, fortune favors the underdogs. Who knows, the stars might favor the Super Kings on the day of the toss?
