Alright my sporting compadres, let's crack open this can of delight, starting off with Olympiacos. Our Greek friends have been on a tear this season with their winning record of 22-8, with a player roster akin to the who's who of basketball nobility. Sasha Vezenkov has been putting on a clinic, shooting hoops like it's his job... which it is, I suppose. Let's not forget his partners in crime, Kostas Papanikolaou and Nigel Williams-Goss who've been dropping dimes and points like they're going out of style.
Now, on the other side of the court, we have ASVEL Basket, the French underdogs. Despite their bleak record of 11-19, we've seen gleams of brilliance from Theo Maledon and Joffrey Lauvergne. Although, brilliance alone might not suffice to bridge the chasm that separates these two teams.
Casting our minds back, the past skirmishes between these titans have favored Olympiacos, having won all of their last three encounters. Olympiacos seems to have a soft spot for close calls, isn't that fun for us spectators? Strap in for a thrilling match my friends.
Despite recent stutters, Olympiacos still reigns supreme at the numero uno spot in the EuroLeague. ASVEL Basket, however, seems to be taking a more leisurely approach at #15. Fascinating strategy, really. Maybe they have a secret weapon... or maybe not.
That being said, all factors considered, counting the chickens before they hatch, and whatever clichés you want to use, we've got ourselves a prediction.
