Oh boy, we've got Alba Berlin packing up their lederhosen and traveling to face Partizan in what promises to be a spectacular EuroLeague bonanza. The Berlin squad has been like a soufflé that just won't rise lately, sitting low at #18 in the Euroleague standings. Their recent results have been about as cheerful as a bear with a sore head, with only 1 win out of their last 5. Matt Thomas and Yanni Wetzell have been trying their darndest with an average of 14.3 points per game last month, but it hasn't been quite enough to tip the scales.
On the other side, we have Partizan. Despite a fluctuating season, they have planted their flag firmly in the #12 spot. Carlik Jones has been putting on a show, leading the charge with an average of 14.8 points per game last month. The fact that they managed to pull off wins in their last three encounters with Alba Berlin, adds another feather to their cap.
But let's not kid ourselves here, Alba Berlin's regular-season record of 5-25 looks about as appealing as a wet weekend. Conversely, Partizan's middle-of-the-road 15-15 record at least screams "Hey, I'm not a total disaster!"
We could argue till the cows come home, but if I had to put my money on anyone, it would have to be Partizan. And I'll go ahead and say they'll do it comfortably.
