FC Utrecht by 2Alright, let's not beat around the bush, this encounter between the boys from RKC Waalwijk and FC Utrecht is shaping up to be another typical Eredivisie showdown.
In the goalie camp, we've got Waalwijk's own shot-stopper Jeroen Houwen, with a decent 7.47 rating after making a cool 16 saves. Utrecht have their own guardian of the net, Vasilis Barkas lining up, boasting a respectable 7.28 rating with 11 saves this season. One guy likes to dive, the other...also enjoys diving. Saves aplenty folks.
Looking at the field players, it's clear from the stats Utrecht got themselves a real goal chaser in Miguel Rodríguez. Four goals and good reliable aim from the man, and those 6 shots on goal are no joke. Yoann Cathline and Sébastien Haller follow closely behind with a couple of goals each. Reliable chaps. Meanwhile, at the opposite side of the pitch, RKC's got striker Michiel Kramer with 2 goals to his name. Their accurate pass game is strong, with Liam van Gelderen leading the pack.
When it comes to the history books, and I tell ya the history books here have a very short read time, it's clear Utrecht has had Waalwijk's number, with a bag full of wins and draws. Especially that 3-2 thriller. We all remember where we were then, don't we?
Both teams have had their ups and downs, but FC Utrecht has been painting the town red in their recent outings including their 4-0 domination over Ajax. RKC Waalwijk, on the other hand, is itching for a win after a string of, let's just say "less than ideal" results.
