Alright sports fans, we've got what could be an absolute humdinger, or a total snoozefest, no promises here. On one side we have Almere City FC, led by Nordin Bakker who's swatted away 10 potential goals. But with regular season record of 4-6-17, they're as stable as a Jenga tower being played by a twitchy caffeinated cat.
As for player firepower, Charles-Andreas Brym with his slightly off-center hairline has nicked the ball into the net a couple times, and Marvin Martins seems to have targeted the goal once for a spectacular display of what the game is about, i.e, scoring.
Now, let's flip the pancake. PEC Zwolle, with 7 wins, 8 draws and 12 losses this regular season, is not that much better but, as my grandmother always said, "it's better to be slightly less terrible than completely terrible." In goal we have Jasper Schendelaar who's put up a great display with 12 saves.
Zwolle's infantry, well, Filip Krastev is the alpha here with his impressive pass accuracy and being the only player to have looked at the goal three times and wondering whether or not he should be decent and let it be. Simon Graves Jensen has fired four shots on goal with zero finds, making him an excellent advocate of the 'if you don't succeed, try try again' lifestyle.
Looking at past meetups, PEC Zwolle has outpaced Almere two to one, so if history decides to not be a chaotic beast and repeat itself reliably for once, PEC's got the advantage.
Analyzing cobwebbed memories of recent performances, PEC Zwolle had a pretty decent mix of wins, draws and losses. Almere City FC, on the other hand, seem to be on a motivational journey of introspection featuring many defeats.
Having dragged myself through all these details, I would say PEC Zwolle appear to be leading the pack of these two. Though keep in mind, this matchup could swing any way much like my golf swing. Regardless, my precarious prediction is:
Albert’s Prediction: PEC Zwolle by 1
