Bayern Munich by 2Bayern Munich will be locking horns with RB Leipzig, and as much as the rivalry is enjoyable, come on, we're not here to make friends. Let's talk numbers.
Guarding the net for RB Leipzig we've got Péter Gulácsi and young Maarten Vandevoordt. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich has the legend that is Manuel Neuer and the less exceptional Daniel Peretz.
RB Leipzig's star players don't exactly make you stand up and cheer. Loïs Openda and Antonio Nusa are decent contributors, both with a goal under their belts. But the player really carrying his weight is Willi Orbán with his two goals - apparently, everyone loves a defender who can score.
On the Bayern side, we've got Harry Kane gearing for action, with an impressive 3 goals in his kitty. Probably while playing Sudoku, if his boredom-level 71.4% accurate pass rate suggests anything. Then there's Jamal Musiala who's also scored thrice and is becoming as predictable as the ending of a Hallmark Christmas movie.
Looking at their past matchups, it's a bit of a yo-yo. Last time they met, Bayern Munich managed a slim victory, but RB Leipzig has shown that they can surprise Munich with a win as well.
Season record favors Bayern Munich, who are probably laughing their way to the bank with 10 wins, 3 draws, and a single loss. RB Leipzig seems less intimidating with 8-3-3.
Recent results don't exactly instill confidence in RB Leipzig either. Losing to Hoffenheim and a 5-1 thrashing from Wolfsburg isn't doing them any favors. Bayern on the other hand just suffered a minor speed bump against Mainz, but their overall winning run continues.
After considering all that, it's really not a tough call for me.
