DrawAlright, so let's dig our cleats in and look at this upcoming bloodbath between Ceará and Corinthians. If I squint, I can see the lads warming up already.
Starting with our dear Corinthians, they've got the human wall, Hugo Souza between the sticks. The man picks corners like he's shopping for furniture, ambling about with a cool 7.15 rating and 6 saves. I'd have more to say about the Ceará goalkeeper, but it seems their identity is a mystery. Maybe they're going for that dramatic reveal, eh?
Corinthians players, though, they're like a meaty stew, every ingredient adding to the flavor. Keep an eye out for Rodrigo Garro who passes accurately and Breno Bidon who appears to be the only one interested in scoring. And then, there's Cacá, a goalscorer and a passing maestro.
I wonder who Ceará has got... Oh, right, that's information I don't have. Sneaky tactics from the opposition, I must say.
The regular season records couldn't get any more identical if they were twins. Both Corinthians and Ceará coming in with 4 wins, 3-4 draws and 4 losses. Strikingly similar, or, frighteningly mirrored, depends on your cup of tea.
Catching up on their recent performances, Corinthians have been dishing out ties like they're knots to be untied. That 1-0 win against Santos should certainly bolster their confidence though. Ceará's recent outing against Fortaleza ended in a stalemate, and they suffered a narrow loss to Botafogo not too long ago. Let's not forget that satisfying win against Sport Recife, the memory of it must still be sweet.
Now, taking into account the tactical maneuvering, player form, tea leaves' readings and a round of 'eeny, meeny, miny, moe', I reckon it'll be a tight contest. Both teams might play it close to the chest, considering they're evenly matched, and maybe, just maybe end up sharing the spoils.
