Well aren't we in for a little treat this Wimbledon? We've got Karen Khachanov, seeded 21, squaring up against the unseeded Aslan Karatsev. Ah, the drama!
Our beloved Khachanov, who would probably lose to a mannequin in a staring contest going by his recent form, has managed to string together some underwhelming performances. With four losses in his last five games, his form echoes my sympathy for him - it's nowhere to be found.
On the other side of the net, we have Karatsev. A name so unassuming, it might be mistaken for a brand of discount vodka. This gentleman’s recent results have been a raucous rollercoaster ride of disappointment. Just when you think he is about to turn it around, Karatsev pulls another defeat from the jaws of victory like a magician with an unhealthy addiction to failure.
Yet with these two, it seems we're in a contest where defeat is the name of the game. But don't be fooled! This is tennis, and sadly, someone has to win. I'd put my money on Khachanov, but he's about as predictable as my aunt’s Thanksgiving stuffing. However, compared to Karatsev’s record, his odds are looking as good as my hair stylist’s after a couple martinis.
Albert’s Prediction: Khachanov in 4 sets.
