Volynets in straight setsDon't call me a doctor, but one can diagnose the character and momentum of these two players with these recent results. Katie Volynets, holding that mighty number 9 seed, shows no signs of fumbling in this Morocco Open Round of 16 matchup. Look at her recent track record - trampling a trail of victory, aside from a single blip against Tauson that we can gloss over, like that embarrassing stain on your favorite shirt - we've all been there.
On the other side of the net, we have our unseeded underdog, Maya Joint. Been having a bit of a rollercoaster, hasn't she? Mixing in some wins with losses like some sort of competitive cocktail party conversation, it's a back-and-forth story, but not necessarily the best-selling kind.
