Avanesyan in 3 sets.Let's dive into a juicy matchup folks, between Elina Avanesyan and Magdalena Frech. Avanesyan does carry a bit of a swagger, being the bookies' sweetheart. Of course, love might be in the air for the unseeded contender.
Don't you dare forget their steamy Mid-July match of 2024, where Avanesyan, the lesser known Elina, sweetly handed out bagels to Frech, two sets to love. If she can translate that rampage on the court this time around, it might be a rough night for dear Magdalena.
An interesting fact to gulp down with your sports drink, folks, is that Avanesyan's recent form has been as wobbly as a jelly on a roller coaster. She suffered defeats from Andreeva and Kasatkina, albeit managing a tight win against Wang Xin, before tasting defeat again from Martic. Not the most lovely for Elina.
