Now hold onto your popcorn folks, we've got an enticing matchup here between the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty. A best-of-5 series, we're in game 2 and things are already heating up.
Starting with New York Liberty, they're coming into this game with home advantage. Sabrina Ionescu has been lighting it up during the playoffs thus far, averaging 24.7 points per game while scooping up 3.3 boards and 6.3 assists. It's hard to argue with those numbers. Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones aren't slouching off either, scoring 22.3 and 14.0 points respectively during these playoffs.
Turning our attention to Las Vegas Aces, the big name to watch out for is undoubtedly A'ja Wilson. She's putting up superstar numbers, averaging 22.0 points per game for the playoffs while bringing down a respectable 9.0 rebounds per. Kelsey Plum has also been hot, dishing out 18.3 points per contest.
Now if we're talking about head-to-head matchups, it seems like Lady Liberty is holding fine against the Aces. The Aces couldn't bring home the bacon in their most recent meeting, falling to the Liberty 77-87.
Sure, the Aces had good run this season, finishing fourth in the standings, but Liberty has been on a whole other level, dominating the court with a league-leading regular-season record.
Despite current series standing leaning towards Liberty, let's not forget the Aces pulled out a 2-1 series win against Seattle Storm recently. In contrast, Liberty has been a wrecking ball without any restraint, plowing through their playoff series against the Atlanta Dream, leading 3-0.
Ultimately, looking at recent performances and the stake of the series, it appears the situation isn't favoring our friends from Las Vegas.
Predicting the outcome of the game, here's my two cents.
