Queensland Maroons by 4In analyzing the epic clash between the Queensland Maroons and New South Wales Blues, we can't help but note the thrill of the throwback, the timeless game of Rugby where memories are made, and quite possibly, lost. Now tradition and statistics would clearly favor our Queensland friends. Feasting on their home turf since 2012, till today they have filled their victory chest to a brimming 77%. Quite something, isn't it?
But, oh there is always a but, isn't there? Last year's series saw the Blues blowing the victory trumpet, embraced by a 2-1 win under the guidance of previous coach Michael Maguire. And while they’ve welcomed a new coach, Laurie Daley, to their ensemble, they've also given a warm, if not cozy, welcome to debutant Max King. On the other side of the fence, the Maroons, navigate their redemption saga, once again led by Daly Cherry-Evans and Billy Slater. Now how's that for a plot twist?
Taking a look at past skirmishes, they're pretty mixed. Yeah, Maroons had a good show in 2023, but the Blues were not to be outdone, replying with a not-so-gentle reminder of who was the reigning champion in 2024. Scoreboard echoes yesteryear's victories and defeats, providing fodder for our foresight.

As tempting as it is to place my chips on the Blues, the honor of the Maroons speaks volumes, and the comforting nudge of the home advantage, 77% home game winnings is hard to ignore! Oh, I do love a good gamble. And while the potential of a draw lingers in the background like an awkward party guest, reality hands out its party favors only to victors and defeated.
