My Prediction
Queensland Maroons by 6I must confess, this State of Origin matchup is a real humdinger. Now remember, this isn't Monopoly money we're talking about, your humble narrator is staking nothing less than his sterling reputation on this prediction.
So, we have Queensland Maroons facing off against New South Wales Blues, and even a gibbering halfwit can tell this is anyone's game. But don't be fooled, the devil's in the details here folks.
We see the return of Selwyn Cobbo to the Maroons, along with Kalyn Ponga, who's as unpredictable as a squirrel on a sugar rush. The Blues, on the other hand, are patching things up with Bradman Best filling in for the injured Latrell Mitchell. Add Mitch Barnett into the mix, and we've got ourselves a rugby bouillabaisse!
Now, history is smirking at us like a victor who already knows the outcome. Queensland has sealed the deal in nine of the last 10 deciders, with the Blues last live Game-three victory at Lang Park wating way back in 2005. That's so long ago, folks were still using MySpace.
In recent face-offs, these teams have shown they're as evenly matched as two peas in a pod - a bit of tit for tat. And considering Series Records, both teams have had their highs and lows. As unpredictable as an aunty at a karaoke bar!
