My Prediction
Inter by 1With a clash of two titans like Inter and Roma, one might as well throw darts at a dartboard for a prediction and hope to impress their friends with a lucky guess. However, let’s look at some numbers.
Inter's goalkeeper Yann Sommer, despite being a tad below Roma's young talent Mile Svilar in terms of performance rating and saves, is known for stepping up when it matters. A bulwark between the sticks, he can turn a game on its head. However, don't write off Svilar who's been blocking shots like it's a personal insult.
As for the key players, one can't look beyond Roma's Matías Soulé and Eldor Shomurodov, who have been splendid in maintaining possession and finding the back of the net respectively. Undeniably, Matías’ accurate passing is as pleasing as a well-cooked risotto. Then there's Shomurodov; put him within a sniff of goal and watch the magic unfold.
Inter team boasts of high-achievers like Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Stefan de Vrij, and Marko Arnautović. Mkhitaryan's passing and creativity are as smooth as a Sinatra serenade; De Vrij is a rock in defense while Arnautović is comparable to a cherry bomber on the field with his goal-scoring prowess.
Another aspect to consider is recent match-ups. Inter seems to have the upper hand winning the last three encounters against Roma without letting them score even once. That’s a stinging fact!
In regular seasons, both have impressive records. Although, Roma's loss count creates a tiny dent here, and it might as well be the chink in their armor that Inter can exploit.
Judging by recent results, Roma seems to be grinding out results with an abundance of 1-0 wins, but Inter follows closely securing a few emphatic victories along the way.
