Oh, what a delightful hockey fest it appears we have at our doorstep. We've got the Ottawa Charge, strutting into the ice rink like they own the place, taking on the Minnesota Frost, who wouldn’t be out of place delivering milk in the Arctic. Might as well whistle a merry tune for this Women's Pro Hockey League contest, wouldn't you say? This is as wishy-washy as a laundromat, folks... sorry, I digress.
Turn the calendar back and you'll see these two teams have been playing leapfrog, hustling and bustling, yielding mixed results. To grant the Ottawa Charge their due, they’ve really pressed the Frost, knocking in some chilly results against them. Seriously though, those past engagements seem to favor the Charge just a tad.
Oh, and don't get me started on the regular season records. If you ever wanted a perfect exhibition of middling hockey, you needn't look further. Almost mirror images of each other, ladies and gentlemen, with Ottawa looking only slightly less lost in the wilderness.
Jump to recent goings-on and you may be forgiven for thinking the Charge are doing a one-step-forward-two-steps-back dance routine. That mixed bag of a performance - a symphony of inconsistency as I might say. The Frost, on the other hand, aren’t exactly painting rainbows either, with a tad more defeats than successes.
All in all, good heavens, it's close, but judging from their icy encounters and recent exploits, I'd tip my hat slightly towards Ottawa. So, without further ado, let me put my money where my mouth is:
