If you look back in history, Ottawa and Montreal have faced off quite a few times, with Montreal generally having the upper hand in the shoving match. Not always a complete go-over, but pretty much holding their own every time they meet on the ice.
The regular season records tell their own story. Montreal had the edge with those two overtime wins in their record while Ottawa had it rough with four losses to their name. But hey, who's counting right?
Now, Ottawa Charge has not exactly been on fire recently losing their last two games at home. And if that didn't raise an eyebrow, losing to the Boston Fleet at home? C'mon, that signals some sort of mid-life crisis.
On the other hand, the Montreal Victoire has had the better recent stint, with two nice wins over Minnesota Frost and Toronto Sceptres, and only really falling short against Boston Fleet. They have apparently been eating their Wheaties in the morning.
If I had to call it today, and apparently I do... no crystal ball involved here... I'd speculate that the Montreal Victoire are going to skate away with this one, albeit by a hair.
