Brentford by 1Brentford versus Aston Villa, sounds like a quaint Sunday dinner pairing rather than a football match... anyways, it's an encounter full of biff and bang, and mashed potatoes... speaking of mash, let's start with the goalkeepers. Brentford has the luxury of choice with Mark Flekken leading the pack with a 7.63 rating. However, Aston Villa's Emiliano Martínez ain't far behind, posting a 6.97 rating.
Brentford's top players are what I might call a mixed bag of mash, with a standout player Mikkel Damsgaard with a 7.60 rating, although he hasn't found the net yet. Kevin Schade and Bryan Mbeumo are also in the mix, both managing a shot to goal conversion.
Over at the claret and blues, Youri Tielemans, Marcus Rashford, and Marco Asensio are turning heads... though, not many goals for that lot. Asensio, however, has managed to tickle the twine a couple times; I suppose that's worth something.
Taking it back a bit, historical match-ups swing in the Villa's favor, with Brentford managing to clinch only one draw but never quite clinching the series.
Recent form is a fickle thing, and staring at my crystal ball, which also doubles as a bingo machine, I see both teams wearing battle scars, except Brentford looks a tad more impressive, coming off a nice streak including a shellacking of Leicester City.
Now folks, you'll have to pardon my nonchalant, frivolous air, but I can't help but picture Brentford's bees buzzing past Aston Villa's post like the gossip at the local pub.
