Vince Whaley by 2 strokes
Ladies and gents, we're on the back end of The RSM Classic at the landmark East Lake Golf Club. So far, the leaderboard is looking mighty interesting. Top of the list, we got our high flyers, Maverick McNealy and Vince Whaley, both comfortably sitting at 14 strokes under par. Whaley, by the way, recently finished 5th in the Bermuda Championship proving his form, albeit his somewhat unimpressive 115th tour ranking. Maverick McNealy, on the other hand, sitting nicely in the 67th tour spot, finished 17th in the same event, so it's game on between these two.
But we mustn't forget about the chasers here. Mackenzie Hughes and Patrick Fishburn are both lurching just two strokes behind the leaders. Fishburn had a promising 12th place finish at the World Wide Technology Championship recently, and Hughes', well, let's just say he has room to improve after his 67th place at the Bermuda Championship.
Our last round saw some unexpected heroes - Henrik Norlander and Hayden Springer, normally tourists outside the top flight, both carded an impressive 7 under. Daniel Berger, despite his 237th tour ranking, also joined this club. And let's not forget about Vince Whaley who performed consistently across the board.
So, considering the players' forms, stakes on the line, and the golf gods' ever mysterious ways, here's my take. On the final day, tension tends to do funny things to the best of us. That's why my money's on the more consistent player who has been quietly cruising along, Vince Whaley. While the margin could very well be razor thin, I think it'll be a clear enough victory for all to see.
Albert’s Prediction: Vince Whaley by 2 strokes
