My Prediction
Edmonton Oilers by 2Alright, moving right into the thick of it as we approach this Stanley Cup Finals match-up, game 2 between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.
First and foremost, Sergei Bobrovsky, the man between the nets for the Panthers, is showing a steady performance this season and during playoffs, while the Oilers' duo goalies, Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard, are straggling a bit behind him in the save department. Arguably, could be a little concerning for Edmonton folks out there.
Looking at the top players for the Panthers, we've got Sam Bennett, Aleksander Barkov, both shinning during playoffs, while Brad Marchand and Eetu Luostarinen carry impressive playoff tallies too. Now, the Oilers aren't without star power either, getting strong performances from Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in the playoffs. Plus, we can't forget about Evander Kane, he had a noteworthy last season, tight race there folks.
Historically, the Oilers and Panthers have had quite close games, often concluding just one goal apart. The Oilers grabbed the first game of the series, and their previous playoff success against the Dallas Stars was dominant to say the least, but on the flip side Florida isn't to be underestimated, leading 3-1 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Edmonton's recent results are a little more impressive, with a string of dominating victories, while the Panthers had a stutter against Carolina before rebounding to win their last two games.
Despite being lower in conference standings than the Florida Panthers, Oilers are showing quite a fight. And you know, 'bout time Edmonton put that northern cold weather to practice, right?
