My Prediction
Edmonton Oilers by 2Looking at this matchup, we've got the Edmonton Oilers skating over to the Vancouver Canucks home ice. Straight off the bat, the goalie situation's looking interesting. I'm seeing Stuart Skinner of the Oilers with last month's dazzling 92.5% save rate against the Canucks' own Thatcher Demko, who's doing alright with an 87.4% save. And if Pickard steps in for the Oilers, seems like they remain in safe hands.
Now, let's talk skaters. Edmonton's got a line-up with Leon Draisaitl who's been magical, netting in 8 goals and assisting 12 times just last month, his buddy Connor McDavid was up to some tricks too with 6 goals and 14 assists. Meanwhile, Vancouver's relying a lot on Quinn Hughes, who's been quite impressive himself with 3 goals and 10 assists last month. J.T. Miller's a little down in the dumps with -9 on the plus-minus front but hey, hockey can be a cruel mistress, huh?
Digging into history, looks like Edmonton has shown Vancouver its taillights most of the time. Got a crisp 7-3 victory under their belts from last November. That's a solid morale booster going into the clash.
This season's records subtly hint at Edmonton's edge too. A total of 29 wins for the Oilers against a more modest 19 for the Canucks.
