Oh dear, we've got the Anaheim Ducks taking on the Florida Panthers and it's like watching two grizzly bears fight over a jar of honey. Now, for the Ducks, you've got the star goalie John Gibson with staggering 99.2% save rate this season. And not to be outdone, the Panthers have Bob the builder, also known as Sergei Bobrovsky with 92% this season. But it's not all about the netminders, folks, the players need to hit the puck sometimes too you know.
Now let's clamor over the Ducks first. They've got Troy Terry who's been causing a stir with his 15 goals and 19 assists this season. That lad has been cooking up a storm. But not to be outdone by his teammate, Ryan Strome's been standing his ground with 7 goals and 18 assists this season. Sure, if they played like this all the time, we'd have a different story altogether but they're as inconsistent as my Wi-Fi connection.
Flip the puck to the Panthers, we've got Sam Reinhart leading the parade with 27 goals and 24 assists and mighty Matthew Tkachuk following not too far behind with his 14 goals and 26 assists this season. Now isn’t that as noiseless as a church mouse in slippers on a rainy Sunday!
But you know what they say about living in the past and our little trip down memory lane reveals quite the evenly matched battles between the two. Even the recent results seem to be as confusing as trying to figure out why the chicken crossed the road. Although if we start tossing about regular season records like candy at a parade, we see the Panthers are riding the wave with 26 wins, while the Ducks seem to be flopping about with their 18.
So, if you were to put a donut against my head and force me to make a prediction, I’d say the Florida Panthers have a better shot at taking the win. How many points you ask? Well...
