Ladies and gentlemen, we've got a bit of a hockey rumble tonight as the Anaheim Ducks waddle into the Tampa Bay Lightning's neck of the woods. The Ducks are banking on their goalkeepers Lukas Dostal, steady at 91.0%, and John Gibson, nearly untouchable with an absolute corker of a save rate at 99.2%. Tampa Bay counters with their own wall, the formidable Andrei Vasilevskiy with 799 saves at a strong 94.9% this season, and Jonas Johansson, who's been solid but a bit of an easy puzzle to solve at 90.5%.
On the ice, things do heat up a bit we've got the likes of Frank Vatrano, cutting through the rink with 11 goals and 13 assists this season, comrade in arms Troy Terry, who's bagged 14 goals and 19 assists, and the young gunslinger Cutter Gauthier with his 7 goals and 13 assists.
The Lightning on the other hand have some serious firepower, led by the impossibly talented Nikita Kucherov with a whopping 17 goals and 42 assists this season. And let's not forget the lightning-bolt himself, Brandon Hagel commanding the rink with 20 goals and 28 assists.
Reflecting upon our past engagements, Ducks might take a whimper of hope from their victory in early 2025 but don't forget, Lightning have electrified the pond on two occasions since then. With a regular season record somewhat seeming like a close match, Lightning seem to not let lead slack away easily.
Looking at the recent results, Lightning have been zapping through the competition with a decisive edge, while the Ducks seemed to be rather struggling, winning only a single game from their last five.
Now, as much as I'd love a fairytale ending for the Ducks, the reality is not a comic strip. So, in my humble and always correct opinion,
