UCLA Bruins by 11Ok then, let's be clear, this is more than just a date with destiny for these two teams. Destiny's got nothing on this matchup.
At first glance, the Royal Rumble in the Bay Area seems skewed. I mean, we're talking the undefeated UCLA Bruins (#1), absolute juggernauts, going up against the Creighton Bluejays who are not completely featherless with a 9-2 record, but still. Talk about a David and Goliath setup!
UCLA boasts a roster with Lauren Betts, who's been practically raining points with a mean 20.0 ppg this season, and Gabriela Jaquez, not far behind. And they're sweeping the competition, not just eking out narrow victories. I mean, they mop up the court with Long Beach State 49ers by a hefty 51 points. It's looking hopeless for our underdog Bluejays, right?
But hold that thought, folks, because the Bluejays aren't a bunch of pushovers. Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly, they've got fire when it comes to scoring, racking up 20.4 and 17.4 ppg respectively. They've got numbers just as intimidating as the Bruins, sure there were a couple of bumps along the way, but nine wins are not a fluke.
But in all fairness, they're up against the Bruins, folks. #1 Bruin, that is. The Bluejays might have the potential for a surprise, but let's just say the bettors wouldn't bet their house on them. So here's my prediction.
