Alright sports fans, we have the Purdue Boilermakers marching into Indiana to face off against the fearsome Hoosiers. The last time these two teams met, we saw the Boilermakers edge out the Hoosiers, which was an unexpected result to say the least.
Looking at the current regular season though, it's clear that the Boilermakers have had a tough time finding their footing. 1-7 this season, that's like falling down a ski slope with zero snow. The Hoosiers, however, appear to be sitting pretty with their shiny 9-0 record.
The recent results are also leaning heavily in Indiana's favor, with high scoring victories against teams like the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Michigan Wolverines. Purdue, on the other hand, have been outrun in their recent games, even failing to register a point against the mighty Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks. Lack of scoring tends to hurt a team’s chances, just in case you thought football was a low-scoring sport.
Quarterback-wise, it's a mixed bag for Purdue, we have Hudson Card with a passing efficiency of 115.9 and Ryan Browne sitting at 116.0. However, Indiana's got Kurtis Rourke and Tayven Jackson, both also boasting decent numbers. Rourke has 6 TDs and 1 INT in the last month, which definitely gives Indiana a bit of a shine.
On the offensive end, Purdue's leading players Max Klare and Devin Mockobee show promising stats but they're being outshone by the Hoosiers. With players like Justice Ellison, Ty Fryfogle and Ke'Shawn Williams under their belt, Indiana's offense is gearing up to put some points on the board.
Defensively, Purdue's Dillon Thieneman has been quite active with 20 tackles in the last month. But Indiana's Aiden Fisher is leading the pack with 25 tackles and Mikail Kamara with an impressive 3.5 sacks.
So, breaking it down, it looks like Indiana is the stronger team here.
So here's my prediction, hope you've been paying attention:
